It’s true. If you haven’t heard already, Facebook announced that they will be shutting down their Facebook Analytics tool after June 30, 2021. Don’t panic! If you are a frequent user of Facebook Analytics, there are a few things you can do to prepare for this transition.

Download Your Data

You will still have access to all your data up until the June 30th deadline. This includes any reports, charts, tables, and explore insights in your account. After that, it’s gone, so make sure to download any necessary information. To export data into a CSV file from Facebook Analytics on your desktop, click in the top-right corner of each chart or table.

Familiarize Yourself with Alternatives

While Facebook Analytics the individual tool is going away, these alternatives continue to be available: Events Manager, Ads Manager, Page Insights, Instagram Insights, Facebook Business Suite Insights, and more. All of these tools can help you understand your advertising, presence, and activities on Facebook and Instagram.

Emphasis on the Alternatives

Facebook’s announcement elaborates a bit more on three individual analytic tools to use as alternative options. Here’s what they can do for you:

  •  Facebook Business Suite: This tool serves as the one stop shop for managing all your connected accounts across Facebook and Instagram, all in one place. You can view insights, create posts, ads, and more. Note, this tool may not be available to you.
  •  Facebook Ads Manager:  Ads Manager lets you create and manage your ad campaigns. Once your ads are published, you can view, make changes and see results for all your Facebook campaigns, ad sets and ads.
  • Facebook Events Manager: Track your web event data by creating pixels or by setting up your conversions API.

The end of the individual Facebook Analytics tool doesn’t have to be the end of gathering data and insights for your business. Download your existing analytics and see how it can work in conjunction with the alternative tools. In doing so, you might just realize they have features that provide better measurement and data analysis capabilities.
